We recently visited Eyeweb, the Hull-based digital agency behind our website and marketing, to film an episode of their video podcast. Our MD, Brendan, sat down with them to chat about where Peach Hampers started, how far we’ve come, and the small moments that have made a big difference along the way.

If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to take an idea from your living room floor to a busy warehouse - with some family support and the odd bit of rugby commentary in the background - it’s well worth a watch.

How Peach Hampers Started with a Personal Touch

It all started with a simple Christmas gift - a hamper Brendan sent to his mum that arrived without a note. That tiny detail sparked a much bigger idea - why aren’t gifts more personal the moment you open them? That small moment inspired Brendan, and eventually, Peach Hampers was born. What started as a seasonal side project to keep busy during the quieter months as a graphic designer gradually turned into something much more.

In the podcast, Brendan talks about the early days, packing hampers with his dad, calling in help from family and friends during the festive rush, and landing our first major corporate order with VW.

From a Seasonal Side Project to a Growing Gift Hamper Business

As the business grew, we realised we needed the right support in the right place – and that’s where Eyeweb came in. Working with their team helped us take that next step, and we saw big changes at Peach Hampers.

Having them on our side meant more than just a slick new website and ecommerce platform (although we’re pretty proud of that too). It also meant developing tools to help us scale up. We’ve gone from manually tracking orders to having a tailored fulfilment system that actually keeps up with demand. It’s made a massive difference, especially during peak times like Christmas.

Brendan also discusses how our marketing strategy has evolved. With support from Eyeweb, we’ve been able to tap into Google Shopping, PPC and SEO in a way that actually makes sense - and more importantly, brings in results. Most of our orders come from corporate clients, but with a more visible online presence, we’re starting to see more interest from personal customers in Hull and beyond, too.

In the episode, Brendan also shares one of his more personal highlights. The Christmas tree-shaped hamper idea that came from his daughter during a school holiday visit. We ran with it; it flew off the shelves and became one of our most popular products. It’s a great reminder that good ideas can come from anywhere and that, sometimes, the best ones are also the most unexpected.

It’s an honest, down-to-earth chat about starting small, thinking differently, and starting a business from scratch in a way that stays true to its roots.

You can watch the full episode now on Eyeweb’s website. We hope you enjoy watching it as much as we enjoyed being part of it. Huge thanks to Paul and the Eyeweb team for inviting us along. We’d love to hear what you think.
